Verna Carol Bash-Flowers
Personal Statement Of Attorney Verna Bash-Flowers
When an individual hires an attorney, it is often because he or she is facing a crisis or some major event in their personal or business lives. They may have never dealt with an attorney before and they are apprehensive or nervous about taking the initial step; picking up the phone and calling to make an appointment.
It is my goal to make every encounter with my office as positive an experience as possible. In the twenty four years I have been in practice, first in Bridgeport, Connecticut and now in Gastonia, North Carolina, I strive to provide ethical, professional legal services on a personal level. The approach I take is that which is mandated by the rules of ethics governing my profession. The client’s case is always the clients case. My job is to listen to the goals my client is trying to achieve then explore with them legal means to achieve those goals. It is also my job to know the law, explain it in terms that my client can understand and make informed decisions. My first course of action is to attempt to resolve cases by working out an agreed upon disposition. However this is not always possible and I have successfully tried and defended many cases.
My fees are reasonable and commensurate with my level of experience. The difference between working with my office and others is that I work with each of my clients one on one. You will work with me directly; I do not turn you over to a paralegal or other support staff. I personally am familiar with each and every one of my clients and the facts of their case.
My office hours are designed to meet the needs of working individuals as well as those who are able to handle business during normal business hours. I believe it is important to be available after five and on Saturdays for those clients who have difficulty taking time out of their work day to attend to business unless absolutely necessary. I see clients by appointment Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Especially in this economy, my clients should not have to choose between seeing an attorney or keeping their jobs.
During my years of practice both in Connecticut and North Carolina, I have had many loyal clients who have entrusted their legal matters to me, referred family, friends and co-workers to me because of their faith in my abilities and their trust in me.
Practice Areas: Divorce, Criminal, Wills, Accident Cases including Slip and Falls and Dog Bite Cases, Motor Vehicle including DUI, Bankruptcy (Chapters 7, 11 & 13) and Immigration and Naturalization.
I earned my Law Degree (Juris Doctor) from Quinnipiac University School of Law, Hamden, Connecticut. I earned my Bachelors Degree (BA) in Spanish from Rutgers College, Rutgers University, and a Master of Urban Planning Degree (MUP) from New York University. I learned Spanish while completing a Junior Year Abroad program in Mexico City, Mexico.
